Fathers Day Attire and Gifts

The first ever fathers day was held on 5th July 1908 in Fairmont, West Virginia. The idea came about after the Monongah mining disaster killed 361 men, 250 of which were fathers so it was suggested to the local pastor that all these fathers be honoured. However it wasn't made into a permanent national holiday until 1972 when president Richard Nixon swore it into law.

Fathers day this year is on Sunday 19th June, so if you are wondering what to buy your dad this fathers day look no further. Here at Fab Ties we have some great products which would be ideal gifts for Dads with all different types of personality and interests. This outfit featuring our new burgundy passion tie and pocket square set, with a charcoal grey shirt, black slim fit trousers and a black velvet effect dinner jacket would look great for any formal event.

Perfect for a country gentleman our new wildfowling dogs bow tie would look great with this tweed jacket, tan colour trousers and a white shirt.

Our colourful fish tie would be great for anyone that loves animals and tropical fish in particular, or just someone with a vibrant personality. It would make a great smart casual outfit combined with this pale blue shirt, black jeans and navy blue zip up cardigan.

This Van Buck red and blue tiny flower pattern cravat would make a great present for fathers day as casual cravats can be very versatile and will look great with a variety of different outfits for all sorts of occasions. We think it would go very well with these beige trousers, white shirt and navy blue blazer.
