Quirky New Year Resolutions

The beginning of  a new year is a great time to make a change and do something different. New Year's resolutions can be mundane and often end up being the same every year. Instead of the usual promising to loose weight, give up smoking or cut down on drinking why not make life more interesting by choosing one of our Top 5 Quirky Resolutions.

1. Post a photo a day for a year.

A year can seem to last forever but in reality it is a very short period of time. It is so easy to forget what your year consisted of, if you take just one photo every day for a year you will have a wonderful photo diary packed with memories. You can take a photo of absolutely anything, it doesn't have to be jam packed with selfies. Take photos of your family, pets, places you visit, or just some beautiful English countryside. You can make it random or memorable its completely up to you.

2. Try a new food every month.

If you are a particularly fussy eater you can end up eating the same things all the time and you'll soon be fed up of it. So why not be brave and add some variety to your diet, you never know you could discover a new favourite food. Get adventurous and try sushi, crocodile, or maybe an exotic fruit e.g. dragon fruit, pomelo or kumquat.

3. Learn a party trick.

A great way to impress your friends, colleagues or a new group of people is a party trick. Make it your mission to master an impressive new skill. Why not memorise every county in the UK, learn to solve a rubix cube in under a minute, draw a perfect circle freehand,

4. Break a world record.

Whether you want it to be official and get your name in the Guinness Book of World Records or just for your own satisfaction try and break a world record in the year ahead. You could  stack 24 cans in a fridge in under 9.76 seconds, drink 500ml of water in less than 2.35 seconds, stack more than 51 coins in a tower using one hand in 30 seconds, or take more than 1449 selfies in an hour.

5. Learn a new craft.

Bring out your creativity and learn a new craft whether it be practical like sewing, or just for fun such as pyrography, the art of burning into wood which you could use to engrave wooden gifts. Its always useful to learn a new skill and be able to make things yourself.
