Autumn Wedding Colours

As the weather gets colder and the darker nights draw in and the leaves start to fall from the trees most brides and grooms who opt to get married this time of year will be looking for inspiration for what colours are best for this time of year, we think darker autumnal shades are best to go with the surroundings of the autumnal landscape.

With that in mind, opt for bridesmaid’s dresses in different shades of purple, plum, orange and navy blue your groom and groomsmen will want to complement these colours by wearing darker suits which will in turn complement the bridal party and the season.

Be mindful of the colours you choose for your bridesmaids and make sure you compliment your grooms party with the colour scheme you decide to go with.

If you have decided to go for a beautiful autumnal orange colour scheme and bridesmaid’s dresses then why not have your groom and groomsmen wear a lovely pale charcoal grey suit to really make that orange colour pop. Add a tie, cravat, bow tie and pocket square in a similar orange colour which will contrast perfectly with the dark suit colour and bring your whole colour scheme together.
Purple and plum hues are huge wedding colours and if you opt for these shades finding a suit for your groomsmen should be relatively easy, black, grey and navy blue will compliment the colours perfectly and a purple or plum bow tie, tie or cravat would look great and really make your groom and groomsmen stand out and match the bridal party.

Tweed and velvet suits are fast becoming the go to if you really want to make your groomsmen stand out for the big day – the different materials are perfect for the autumn and winter seasons being traditionally thicker materials they will keep your grooms party nice and warm, tweed always makes a great autumn wedding look and most colours will go with a traditional tweed outfit. If you opt for velvet suits, try to stick with a colour that would compliment i.e. pair a black velvet suit with a purple or plum colour or try a matching velvet black bow tie.

We love this autumn wedding look consisting of a grey tweed jacket, casual blue denim shirt and our beautiful Floral Navy Blue Slim Tie finished off with our burnt orange pocket square and rustic buttonhole.

Black and plum is always a classic colour combination for weddings because it looks extremely elegant. Your groomsmen could look great in black suits with patent black shoes and our Plain Plum Self-Tie Bow Tie, PocketSquare and Cufflinks Set.

Pair Navy Blue suits with either navy blue or plum ties to go with your plum bridesmaid’s dresses and flowers for a warm autumn colour option.
