Most of the Marvel films are interlinked with each other in some way, and they have the common fact that Stan Lee (writer of the comics and former president and chairman of Marvel comics) appears in every film for a very short amount of time. The tradition started in 1989 when he had a cameo in one of the original TV Hulk spin-off movies.

The films are all based on Marvel comics and are part of a shared universe which means the plots from all the different films cross over.
